Provincial Home Living is seeking a skilled Buying Admin Assistant to join our energetic and friendly Head office team. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a clear-thinking individual with a passion for furniture and homewares.

Our Buying team operates in a small, dynamic environment. We collaborate with the wider Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and Retail teams to deliver a range of products that meet our brand’s unique aesthetic and financial objectives. We are proud of the timeless products we source then bring to life.

The Buying Admin Assistant is the backbone of the Buying team. Your key strengths are your faultless organisational skills and your innate ability to build relationships. Working across 5 categories, this is a hands-on role requiring excellent time management practice - prioritising tasks will be the key to your success. 

Key Responsibilities

  • General administration support across all categories – Furniture, Home Decorative, Kitchen, Top of Bed, Bathroom
  • Product co-ordination – registration of new lines, placing purchase orders and following the production process from initial concept and development through to bulk production
  • Co-ordinating the sampling process and communicating packaging requirements
  • Managing samples for internal photoshoots and online advertising
  • Communicating all quality issues, material updates and data changes to the team for follow up
  • Communicating internally with key departments including VM, Finance, Retail support, Warehouse and Marketing
  • Building relationships with suppliers throughout the product development process

Key Skills

  • Exceptional time management, organisational and communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, spreadsheets don’t frighten you
  • Ability to troubleshoot and understand the commercial impact external forces can have on a vertical retail business
  • Emerging analytical skills to understand profitability based on gross margin calculations
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of textile and furniture construction will be an enormous advantage however not a necessity
  • Tertiary qualifications in a business related discipline recommended
